Marinas are open and in full swing! Took my boat in to get some work done and be ready for early Spring fishing. It's already warming up and we're seeing the tops of the butter cup bulbs popping up through the mulch.

Ooooo a Gibson.

I"ve got a couple Taylors, a Sigma and a Fender Strat. I also play the trumpet and have several of those. My daughter gave me three harmonicas for Christmas.
I have 3 Alvarez's. 2 6str and a 12str. A friend of mine has a Gibson J45 square shoulder dreadnought that is probably the best guitar I've ever played.

Over the holiday I got a Digitech FX pedal that I've been playing around with. I'm working on a spacey bass solo with it.

CHECK THIS GUY OUT

I used to have an RP-100, but it died. Now I've got a Fender amp with effects that I use with the Strat.

What was an awesome clip! I've seen Doyle Dykes play a few times. He re-tunes on the fly and it's pretty amazing to watch. Doesn't miss a beat.

Anybody ever have kidney stones?

Spent the night in the hospital on Sunday. There's two stones...one is still in the kidney...and the other one is stuck between the kidney and the bladder. They operated and installed a stent that drains the kidney. The stent comes out on Saturday.

Hey Ray, I feel your pain. My wife, Darla, was happy to hear the nurse in the emergency room, where my adventure with a kidney stone took me, say that she felt the kidney stone pain was worse than child birth. Darla felt it was justice well deserved.

My experience turned out very good because when they did a CT scan for the stone they found the beginning stages of cancer. That was quickly taken care of and all is well a year later.

So, brother, apparently you and I and any other man who had kidney stones don't have to endure the comments about God giving the task of having babies to women because men couldn't handle the pain.

Hope all is taken care of soon.

Yeah, I keep hearing the comparison with childbirth. And my daughter said that it's justice that we had two children and I have two stones.

I go back in tomorrow to have the stent removed.

It was Kidney cancer, renal cell cancer. Darla and I call it "cheaters" cancer because it doesn't respond to chemo nor radiation therapy so I didn't have to go through all of that awful stuff. The mass was very small and they simply froze it to kill it. I've had 2 follow up visits and each time what was suppose to be dead was still dead and what was suppose to be alive was still kicking, so to speak. Whew!!

And it sounds like you were able to keep the kidney too. Turns out we kinda need those.

A friend asked if I was allowed to drink alcohol. Nobody said I couldn't. So I explained that if wine is good for the stomach, then beer must be good for the kidneys.

Although a beer a week is more my norm.

There's a fill-in-the blank with a grease pencil magnet on my desk that says:

Set flow at
4 beers/hr

Never fished Eufaula, but have passed over it many, many times heading down to Panama City Beach. Long time ago when we lived in Middle GA, my then girl friend used to go camping there with her step parents. I went a couple times, but found the lake felt like a hot bath in the middle of June... jump in the lake at 85 degrees and still be sweating.
