My birthday is on the 23rd and I'll be 43. The twins turn 6 on Saturday. Oh, and Mom and I share a birthday. She hated it when I learned how to add..."Mom, remember when I was 5 and you were 35?" I never told people how old she was. I told them how old I was and which birthday I was born on. If they knew how to add it wasn't my fault.

Please pray for E...he's still having the same stomach issues that started the week before exams. The pain is almost constant, though minor, much of the time. Since starting a new med Friday there have been a few times where it's gone, but then last night it came back hard. Still had it this morning. The doctor said he wanted an ultrasound so we did that today. He wants to see him tomorrow to see the results and to examine him again. I can take him in the morning or in the afternoon. The morning is closer and easier but he has to miss some school. After school is down in the city and we have parent/teacher conferences until 5:15. Then H sees her doctor for one last time (hopefully) to check her ear at 4:30 or 5. Hmmm. This could get interesting.

Well, off to check Math h.w. and head to bed. Good night, ladies.

Prayers for E, as requested.

I biked 4 more miles this afternoon after it stopped raining: 11 total for the day.

Those of you having birthdays in March, if you'd like a birthday card from me, let me know your details, and I'll get a card into the mail for you.

How sweet. I thought it would be cute to that when we start a new thread we can post our birthdays and make a list, but I didn't think about sending out cards.

I'll be 46 on the 31st !! I'm getting old like Harvie.

46 isn't old! I'll be 41 this year.

Years ago, I started a birthday thread in community. I don't know how many people venture outside of women's though whilst they're on CW.

((((Cinderella)))) I had all my wisdom teeth out at once a few years ago. It's no fun; I'll agree with you there! How are you recovering?

Doing pretty good I think. Or at least I hope. I go back for a post-op visit on Thursday. Tonight I am going to try eating pizza for dinner and see how it goes.

Went pretty well. My mouth is definitely not as sore as when I tried to eat a chicken breast on Sunday.

Don't say that!!! I'll be 46 on the 18th!!!!! I have enough trouble just coming to terms with that! I don't wanna think about being "old"!!!

Thursdays, it so awful when our kids are ill. Does E have an ulcer? We pulled dairy out of ds' diet and he's fine now. I would have really bad gas pains even to the point of us taking him to the ER . They found nothing. He had been on a long course of antibiotics around late summer and I think they did a number on his stomach.

I'm grumpy and sad today. PMS and my cousin is having her surgery now. I'm prayin the Dr.s' get all the cancer out. Do want to post our past history, but lets just say we're just gotten back in touch with each other in the last 3 years. I feel we've lost so much in those years.

ThursdaysChild, we will both be the same age, when your birthday arrives .
When my sister was young, she had a lot of trouble with her stomach, and the doctors never did find out what was the cause. They took out her appendix and her tonsils, just in case. Later in life we came to the conclusion that it was probably stress related. Now my son tends to get a lot of stomach aches when he's stressed about something.

Praying for E and Deb's cousin.

We're forecast for thunderstorms here this afternoon. I have an appointment at 1:30, and will then stop by Trader Joes on the way home. But I got up early this morning and biked 6 miles before breakfast and 4 miles after breakfast (total 10 miles) ~ so I got my biking done for the day BEFORE the rain started! But I have to say that I'm tired tired tired ... 30 miles in three days ... while it's my "time of the month" ... has really left me wiped out!

It's been raining here for the past 8 hours ... and it's quite soggy out there. And something about the rain seems to send my inside-only cats into "kitty weirdness" .... lol. I've got one cat out on the big Catio, meowing loudly at ... the rain? And another cat is running up and down the hallway, toy mousie in mouth, meowing, too. And a third cat is in the guest bathroom playing in the empty bathtub (I recognize those muffled thump-thump-thump sounds) and still another cat is banging the kitchen cupboards open and closed, open and closed, open and closed. Thank goodness for the three who are peacefully sleeping with me here in the family room: Miss Cricket and Daniel on the couch, and Emily snuggled against me on the arm of my recliner.

Tomorrow (after the rain has stopped) I need to get out front and refill empty bird feeders. I noticed this afternoon that the hungry birdies had nearly emptied them, but wasn't quite motivated to brave the downpour to fill up those feeders ~ but I did promise the birdies that I would fill them up tomorrow. (Yes, I talked to the birds, doesn't everyone?) Anyway, that and biking are what's scheduled for me tomorrow (Thursday). Speaking of biking ... yes, I am trying to do more of that. I don't want to reduce the calories I'm eating from 1850 a day down to 1500 per day (which is what I would otherwise need to do to lose about 2 pounds a week), so I am seeking to create a reasonable "calorie deficit" via exercise. Which, in addition to assisting with my weight loss, also serves to (1) lower my blood sugars; (2) lower my cholesterol; (3) improve my cardiac health; (4) firm/tone/build muscles; and (5) increase endorphins ~ which I hope will help with my anxiety issues.

I am getting more motivated to walk the treadmill. I just can't bike, the seat is just too much for me and I get an infection.

We've had a really windy time around here recently too. Nothing to do with the weather though.

I wish it would be windy here so it would dry up some of the sloppy, messy gravel roads. It's getting so bad with the snow melt that pretty soon we won't be able to drive one of the cars, the mud is just that deep that the car won't clear it.

Kath, I hear ya on the mud thing. It's melting around here and the dog came in with muddy paw yesterday. I love that it's getting warmer, but with that comes mud. Good job on getting motivated to walk. I'm kind of slugish lately.

Harvie, good job to you too. I'm so thrilled about your weight loss. My goal is to loose what I have to loose in 2 years.

FunBetty: Yes, I bought the English Toffee Breakfast Tea at the grocery store.

Well, my friend Stacey (who I have dinner with on Friday nights) has been at UC Davis for the past 2 days with her husband and a sick kitty cat -- and it looks like the cat will still be there tomorrow, so she won't be able to make dinner with me, since it's a 4-hour drive from Fresno (where we live.) Poor kitty (his name is Gus) ... he's got some sort of neurological problems and his back legs don't seem to be working properly anymore -- and he's just over one year old. The local vet was at a loss to know what to do, so referred Gus up there to a vet neurologist. We're all heartbroken, since I went with Stacey to pick out this kitten at the no-kill shelter last April after her teenaged cat died.... and now he can barely get around (and can't climb on the couch or the bed). But he's still a cuddlebug and still purrs like a motorboat. Anyway, I'm not going to ask what these tests are costing (not to mention 3 days off work for both of them -- they are both Deputy District Attorneys) and two nights at a hotel.

I biked 13 miles today, and I'm tired tired tired. Now I'm happily flopped in my recliner, planning to be a couch potato for the rest of the afternoon/evening. Dinner tonight will be salmon and Wheat Thins, with a nice romaine/tomato salad, cheese toast, and puffed Kamut cereal. Hmmm... Wheat Thins don't sound very exciting as a side starch, but they are already counted out in little baggies, and it just doesn't get simpler than that ~ which is pretty much what I'm up for tonight, LOL!

I saw a black-and-white pet bunny hopping around someone's front lawn while biking today. I stopped and Mr. Bunny scooted under the fence into their backyard.

Aww, poor Gus.

Cute about the rabbit. It wasn't missing from 'Alice In Wonderland' or 'Watership Down' was it?
